If a player in Monopoly GO keeps hitting your board and you would rather not deal with them, the game does give you a way to cut that connection. It is not something most people use every day, but when it matters, it saves a lot of hassle. In event-heavy play, especially around the Monopoly Go Partners Event, keeping your list tidy can make the whole thing feel a lot less noisy.

Open your friend tools first
Start on the main board and head to the Friends button in the bottom-right corner. That is where Monopoly GO keeps the social side of the game. Once the menu opens, switch to the Leaderboard tab. You will see the people already linked to your account, along with their current positions. This is the part most players forget: blocking only works for people who are already on your friends list, so random attackers usually cannot be handled this way.

Find the player and check the menu
Scroll through the list until you spot the name you want to deal with. Tap it directly. A small player menu should appear, and that is where the block option lives. It is a simple step, but it only shows up after you choose the right profile. If the person is not a friend, there usually is nothing to tap. That catches people off guard more often than you would think.

What blocking actually changes
Once the block goes through, that player drops out of your active Monopoly GO social space. You should stop seeing them around, and they should lose the ability to mess with your board or profile. Here is a quick look at the difference.

Keep your list under control
For players who like a calmer game, this is worth checking now and then. A short list is easier to manage. It also helps when you are focusing on events, dice use, or just trying to get through a session without distractions. A few quick habits make it easier to keep things neat:
  • Review your friends list from time to time.
  • Remove people who are no longer part of your regular play.
  • Use the block option when a friend turns into a problem.
If you ever want to clear out more of the social noise, you may also want to buy Monopoly Go Stickers and keep your attention on the parts of the game that actually help your progress.
